TIN & eSECURE for incorporators
Before we can file anything with the SEC, every individual incorporator needs a Tax Identification Number and a credentialed eSECURE account — here's what each one involves.
Before we can file anything with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), every individual incorporator needs two things: a Tax Identification Number (TIN) and a credentialed eSECURE account — the SEC's digital ID used to sign and authenticate documents online. One of them we handle for you; the other only you can do, because eSECURE is a personal identity that can't be delegated.
Here's exactly what we need from each of you.
The two things, side by side#
| What | Who does it | How long |
|---|---|---|
| TIN registration | We handle it with the BIR | Around 3 business days |
| eSECURE account & KYC | You complete it yourself | Around 15–30 minutes |
They run in order: your TIN is one of the details eSECURE asks for during registration, so Step 1 comes first unless you already have a number.
Step 1 — TIN registration#
Every incorporator needs their own TIN, separate from the company's TIN. If you already have one, just send us the number and skip straight to Step 2. A person is only ever meant to hold one TIN in their lifetime, so please don't register a second one.
For each incorporator who still needs a TIN, send us a copy of the passport photo/bio page along with these details:
- First name
- Middle name — put "N/A" if you don't have one
- Surname
- Birthday — formatted as YYYY/MM/DD
- Home address
- Contact number
- Email address
- Mother's full name
- Father's full name
Once we have the complete set, we coordinate directly with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and return your TIN in around 3 business days. Incomplete sets are the usual reason this takes longer, so it's worth checking every field before sending.
Foreign incorporators follow a slightly different route with its own form and, in some cases, an authenticated Special Power of Attorney — see TIN for foreign incorporators for how that works.
Step 2 — eSECURE account registration & KYC#
Register your own eSECURE ID at esecure.sec.gov.ph. Before you start, have these ready:
- Your Tax Identification Number (TIN) — from Step 1
- A personal email address and personal mobile number — both are verified with a one-time code
- Two (2) valid government-issued IDs
Then work through the flow:
1. Create your account#
Sign up, then verify your email address and mobile number using the codes the SEC sends you.
2. Log in and start credentialing#
A fee of PHP 400.00 is required to finalize registration. The credential is valid for 2 years, and renewal costs PHP 250.00.
3. Upload your two valid IDs#
You'll also complete a face verification / liveness check as part of this step.
4. Wait for verification#
Once you're approved, the SEC assigns your unique eSECURE ID and QR code, and both appear on your Account page.
5. Send us your eSECURE ID#
We can't proceed with the SEC filing until we have an eSECURE ID from every incorporator — a single missing ID holds up the whole application.
Where to find your eSECURE ID#
In eSECURE, go to Account › Personal Details. The eSECURE ID is the first field under ACCOUNT INFORMATION, highlighted below.

That's the value we need — not your username, email address, or TIN.
eSECURE is personal and can't be delegated#
Use your own email address, mobile number, and IDs. eSECURE is a personal digital identity, so it can't be shared between incorporators, delegated to an assistant, or created on your behalf — not even by us. Each incorporator registers individually.
One detail worth slowing down for: changing your first, middle, or last name later invalidates the credential and requires a PHP 100 re-credentialing fee. Check your spelling carefully at registration, and enter your name exactly as it appears on your IDs.
Fees at a glance#
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| eSECURE credentialing | PHP 400.00, valid for 2 years |
| eSECURE renewal | PHP 250.00 |
| Re-credentialing after a name change | PHP 100.00 |
These are SEC fees you pay directly during registration — they aren't part of your Korp package.
What happens next#
Once every incorporator has a TIN and a verified eSECURE ID, we can move ahead with the SEC filing. See the incorporation process for what follows, and required documents for the identity files we collect alongside these.
